| Description: | UNA-DYN has an opening for a full-time, experienced Systems Project Engineering Intern/Apprentice . Under the mentorship of an experienced Systems Project Engineer, and through observation and on-the-job- training, the Intern/Apprentice learns how to design and price material handling systems per customer requirements in support of the Integrated Systems Group (ISG) function.
Time Commitment
Interns, still engaged in a course of study must be able to dedicate up to 20 hours per week to the internship.
Apprentices, no longer enrolled in school must be able to dedicate at least 40 hours per week to the apprenticeship.

| Duties: |
- Learns to design and price material handling systems per customer requirements;
- Learns to respond to written or telephone inquiries from customers;
- Learns to research customer needs and prepare quotations;
- Learns to enter shop orders and outside purchase orders to process projects;
- Ensures customers have sufficient information (drawings, manuals, documentation) to facilitate a successful installation, per quote;
- Observes how to contact suppliers to solicit pricing and technical information for quotations or for purchase on projects;
- Learns how to maintain close contact with suppliers to develop good business relationships;
- Collects and documents pricing for future use, generally;
- Learns how to give engineering input on design of layout, assemblies or components;
- Using AutoCad, prepares computer generated drawings from own layouts, rough sketches or concepts;
- Observes how to meet with customers and area representatives in field for sales calls;
- Observes the negotiation meetings with installation contractors and customers in field for site review;

| Qualifications: |
Interns must be currently a student in good standing, engaged in a course of study towards attaining a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related engineering discipline, from an accredited college or university.
Apprentices have graduated successfully from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related engineering discipline. He/she must not have had one year or less of solid experience in his/her field of study. Applicants that do not meet these criteria will not be considered.
